The complete underside clean
Our underside dry ice blasting service is a comprehensive, process-led service designed to safely restore and preserve the underside of your vehicle. Each job is tailored to the vehicles specific construction, condition and intended use.

Initial assessment and preparation
A detailed inspection is carried out before work begins. We assess materials, coatings, contamination levels and sensitive components to determine the correct machine/s and blasting setup for each area.
Safe vehicle lifting and trim removal
The vehicle is raised using appropriate lifting equipment to ensure full, safe access to the
underside. Wheels, protective liners and under trays are removed to provide full access to components, arches, subframes and drivetrain. Optional works such as bumper/side skirt/body/exhaust removal can be accomodated.
Dry ice blast cleaning
We carefully blast wheel arches, floor pans, chassis rails, subframes, suspension components, brake and fuel lines and all accessible areas and components under the vehicle including the drivetrain. Contaminants such as oil, grease, road grime, salts and aged residue are removed, preserving original finishes and coatings wherever possible.
Underseal removal
Dry ice blasting is a highly effective method of removing underseal and glue. It is the most thorough and least substrate damaging method of removing aftermarket underseals and glues. When paired with the right equipment and technique, it is safer for the metal than grinding and cleaner than chemical stripping.
Detail work and hand finishing
Areas that require additional attention are addressed using reduced pressure blasting, specialist nozzles or manual detailing methods to ensure a consistent thorough finish across the entire underside.
Post clean inspection
Once the dry ice blasting is complete, a full inspection is carried out to confirm results and identify any previously hidden issues such as corrosion.

FAQs
What is the Clean & Protect facility?
It’s a purpose-built dry ice cleaning space in Northamptonshire where you bring your vehicle, bike, van, or parts for a controlled, workshop-style clean, followed by protection where needed.
Who is the Clean & Protect facility for?
It suits car dealers, specialist garages, restorers, and automotive pros, plus private owners who want a careful clean on a valued vehicle.
What’s the difference between a facility clean and on-site cleaning?
At the facility, you get a clean, controlled environment, better access with ramps and lighting, and tighter checks as the job progresses. You avoid weather delays and site limits, and you’ll usually get a more thorough finish on awkward areas.
What does “clean and protect” mean?
You don’t just get dirt removed. You also get options to protect the cleaned surfaces so they stay cleaner for longer and help resist future corrosion and contamination.
Do you repair rust you find during cleaning?
Yes. When cleaning uncovers rust or damage, you can add remedial corrosion work to fix it properly so the structure is repaired, not just cleaned.
What underbody protection options do you offer?
You can choose coatings matched to how you use the vehicle, including marine-grade epoxy primers and paints, Waxoyl, lanolin-based treatments, bitumen or rubberised coatings, and industrial ceramic coverings.
What areas do you clean most often?
Common areas include the underside and wheel arches, engine bay, suspension components and subframes, interior hard surfaces and boot areas, and removed parts for restoration or rebuilds.
Will dry ice blasting harm delicate finishes?
Dry ice cleaning lifts grime without grinding into surfaces, which makes it a strong choice for valued vehicles and detailed areas. You’ll still want the right settings for the surface, and you should expect a cautious approach on sensitive spots.
Do you provide photos and video of the work?
Yes. You’ll get high-quality photos and video from before, during, and after, which helps with service history, resale packs, restoration records, and trade use.
What does a visit look like?
You book a slot, arrive and agree the plan, then the clean happens in stages with checks as the work progresses. You leave with a cleaner vehicle and clearer surfaces for care, repair, sale, or show.
